Licensed Furnace Replacement & Installation Serving Westland Since 1981

Sharon's Heating and Air Conditioning has served Westland and the surrounding Michigan communities since 1981 as a fully licensed and insured mechanical contracting company. When it’s time to replace an aging system, we guide you through the decision honestly. We’ll recommend the AFUE rating and equipment tier that fits your home’s layout and your budget, not just the highest-margin option. Every job starts with a clear, upfront estimate, so there are no surprises on the final bill.

Matching the Right Furnace to Your Home

AFUE, or Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency, measures the percentage of fuel a furnace converts into usable heat. A furnace rated at 80% AFUE loses 20 cents of every dollar to exhaust; one rated at 96% AFUE loses far less. During a Michigan winter, that difference can show up on your DTE Energy or Consumers Energy bill every month.

SEER2 measures cooling efficiency and often comes into the conversation when you’re selecting a matched heating and cooling system. A single-stage furnace runs at one output level, fully on or fully off, which keeps upfront costs lower but can create uneven temperatures in larger homes. Higher-stage systems modulate output and tend to hold more consistent comfort throughout the house. We walk you through all of these options during your free estimate so you can make the choice that makes sense for your home.
